Hi, my name is Rachel. I am a fully qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor who offers face to face, online and telephone counselling.
I started my counselling training back in 2006 when my life took an unexpected turn. I had to stop and reassess everything that I once knew as ‘my normal’. I started with the Level 2 Introduction to Counselling and then went onto study the Level 3.
My training had to be delayed again due to more life alterations but I picked back up the books and finally achieved my dream of becoming a qualified counsellor.
I have been trained in person centred therapy which means that our sessions are led by you. I combine learnt skills and tools from different counselling approaches which in turn will help you to explore and express your thoughts, feelings and emotions with the hope of creating a better understanding of self.
It is my belief that we are the experts on ourselves, we just sometimes need that space and time to be heard. I will be able to offer you that safe space whereby we will work together in the hope of you finding a way to move forward.
I have many years of working and supporting individuals and families in both the private and volunteer sector. This has enabled me to gain a wealth of experience with all different ages on a wide range of many different issues.
My specialist areas include substance misuse and addictions, bereavement and loss, long term illness, palliative care, anxiety, depression and trauma.
