Description

Michelle stands in front of a happy couple whilst performing their wedding ceremony.

Michelle Clayford (she/her), is a trained celebrant based in Leeds who will help you mark life’s important moments in unique ways. As a curious person who loves finding out about what makes people tick, Michelle embraces being a little weird and wonderful. If you’re also ‘different’, then she might be the Celebrant for you.

Do expect to be asked all sorts of questions as she digs into the heart of who you are or who your special person was. (e.g What’s your favourite dinosaur? Stegosaurus in case you were wondering.) Don’t expect staid stuffy ceremonies.

In Michelle’s own words –

Greetings! I’m a queer, brown, ND, cis woman based in Leeds. I’m originally from London and have moved around the UK quite a bit. I currently live in Leeds with my wife, QPP, and black cat, Albus. After nearly 20 years of living in Leeds,

I still think of myself as a Southerner at times.

I’m very passionate about funerals and people planning for their death before it happens. A good death is very important, as is a good funeral.

I do also conduct weddings and vow renewals amongst other things.

After living with invisible disabilities for most of my life, I’m keenly aware of the difficulties facing people who live with intersectionality, and I want to enable us to have better choices in ways that we’re comfortable with. I’d say I’m an extroverted introvert who needs lots of recovery time from interactions! I’m mostly found reading, writing, watching films/TV or having a coffee whilst bothering a cat!
