Introducing Suzy Frost –

The first things you need to know about me is that I am a queer elder emo, crocheter, and massive nerd. When I’m not tucked away with my extensive yarn stash, biscuits, and a good cup of tea, you’ll likely find me in a beer garden with my fiancé, friends, and Corgi Ozzy (full name ‘Asmodeus’ when he’s in trouble). Bottomless brunches are therapy, and I will die on this hill!

On other occasions, you will likely find me is at a dining table in someone’s house playing Dungeons & Dragons. My friends and I have been playing together for well over five years now; my Circle of Spores Druid, Minnie (full name Amanita Minnis), makes up about 90% of my personality. My fiancé and I also love dressing up as our favourite characters at Comic Cons, Halloween parties, or even just while going about our daily business — any excuse, really! Though despite being lesbians ourselves, we are yet to cosplay any women…

From a young age, I was a big theatre kid. Between performing arts schools and workshops in my younger years and travelling the country trying my hand at stand-up comedy in more recent times, I soon realised I felt completely at home on stage. Nothing is more fulfilling for me than bringing joy and laughter to as many people as possible.

My good friend, excellent wedding photographer (and now “work wifey”) Gabriela Dickinson was the first person to tell me about wedding celebrants. I believe her exact words were, “I’ve found the perfect job for you. You talk for a living.”

The first thing I noticed about the wedding industry was the overbearing, heteronormative narrative (say that ten times fast!). Apart from the occasional rainbow emoji, there were not many suppliers championing all love and genders. This didn’t sit right with me; if I was going to do this, I was determined to show the wedding world the change I wanted to see.

From there, I hatched a plan — and the rest is history. ✨
