Since September 2024, we (Madeleine and Sandra) have been living in Swedish Lapland because we found it to be the ideal place to start our own business as hosts. To get an impression of the infrastructure, take a look at our website: www.arctic-ranch.com,

We rent out two larger vacation homes and two small stugas (in summer, we even have three small stugas equipped with shared bathrooms and kitchens). Our guests are welcome to use various barbecue areas and can visit the nearby Kalixälven, which is fascinating in both summer and winter.

We are open all year round. We are ideally located on the route to the North Cape or the Lofoten Islands. Finland is also not far away. But it is worth staying with us for several days. We work with various experienced outdoor partners in the area. In winter, there is the opportunity for snowmobile tours, quad bike tours, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, dog sledding, or visiting a Sami with their reindeer and moose. In addition, there is a very good chance of seeing the Northern Lights from our location.

Summer to fall is also ideal for quad biking, husky rides on wheels, kayaking, fishing, or another visit to the reindeer and moose, which we highly recommend.

If you would like to visit us in winter, the best way to get here is to fly via Stockholm to Luleå, from where it is only about a 1.5-hour drive to us in a rental car. The airports in Rovaniemi and Kiruna are also suitable for arriving here. The journey by car is then just a little longer. The same applies in summer, although many travelers also travel from home in their own vehicles.

The good reviews on www.booking.com and Google also give an impression of our business and confirm that our services are impressive. Our guests really appreciate being away from mass tourism in a small, quiet, natural location, enjoying the rich breakfast with homemade bread and the comfortably furnished houses/stugas. One guest aptly summed it up in their review: “The hosts are helpful without being intrusive.” That’s why our slogan is “personal, family-friendly, individual.”

The Arctic Ranch is open to everyone. We also experience our partners and the community of Överkalix (population 3,500), which even hosts a Pride event, as being free of any prejudice.
